On October 12th of 1758, Norfolk was incorporated as an independent municipality, FRIDAY, AUGUST 1 4:00 PM OPEN HOUSE - 4:30 PM THE COPPER STREET BRASS QUINTET on the Town Green5:00 PM JUDY BUCH - VENTRILOQUIST SHOW on Station Place 5:3O PM - 9:30 PM A BLOCK PARTY on Station Place featuring- Food booths ($$) - Music provided by John Bazzano's band - Square dancing called by Cliff Brodeur - Bingo sponsored by the Norfolk Volunteer Fire Department - Karl Saliter, the street jester, sponsored by Norfolk Children's Foundation. APPROX. 9:3OPM A GALA FIREWORKS DISPLAY will erupt from the center of town!SATURDAY, AUGUST 2 10:30 AM YOUNG ARTIST RECITAL (YAR) in the Music Shed on the grounds of the Ellen Battell Stoeckel Estate featuring music from 1758.1:00 - 3:00 PM A VICTORIAN TEA at the Mountain View Inn. Meet Mark Twain, Harriet Beecher Stowe, Victorian ladies, soldiers of bygone years and your neighbors! Light refreshments provided.4:00 PM A "NORFOLK THROUGH THE YEARS" PARADEBeginning on Maple Avenue and ending at the intersection of Mountain Road & West Side Road. The Parade features a float contest with prizes created and donated by Norfolk's world-renowned weathervane Artist John Garrett Thew. |
