~ PARADE FLOAT CONTEST ~ Attention Norfolk residents, businesses, groups & organizations! On Saturday August 2, 2008 a parade honoring Norfolk’s 250 years of existence will step off promptly at 4:00 PM from the intersection of Laurel Way & Maple Ave. and will conclude on Mountain Road. The parade’s theme is "Norfolk through the Years". Enter your own float to be part of this wonderful celebration! A panel of judges will review each float. Trophies will be handmade by Norfolk’s own artist John Garrett Thew and will be awarded in the following four categories: Best Family Float * Best Business Float * Most Patriotic Float * Best Historical Representation.
